1.2 Research
An inventory of the systems that will be affected by the solution is compiled using a questionnaire specifically designed for that type of M.I.M.© solution. Because data routing depends on the network, we must also create an accurate model of the network architecture, that takes into account the existing equipment and the software that are currently being used.
An important part of this research is also ensuring that all of the difficulties and problems have been identified. MasStor Technologies Inc. always tries to strike a balance between a solution that applies industry-best practices and one that respects the client's stated budget.
1.3 Analysis
After the inventory, we process the collected data and we extrapolate current needs into capacity, performance and availability. We also make a projection of future needs, based on growth rates and on the collective capacity of the different systems. The analysis allows us to select hardware and software that will meet current needs and that can be upgraded even beyond future needs.
1.4 The proposed deployment
Based on our analysis and on our experience in the area of mass storage, the deployment may include one or several possible solutions. The solution selected by the client becomes the basis for the Engineering Plan.
1.5 The proposal
It contains a statement of the problem(s) as well as a bid for each possible solution. The proposal includes all of the information required to enable the client to make an informed decision.
1.6 Authorization
The client finalizes the purchasing process and places an order with MasStor Technologies Inc.
1.7 Training
Prior to the pre-deployment meeting, the client sends preferably two people for the necessary training session(s) recommended by MasStor Technologies Inc.
1.8 The pre-deployment meeting
During the pre-deployment meeting, a detailed list of deliverables is drawn up by the technical personnel from MasStor Technologies Inc. who are assigned to solution deployment, along with the client's now-trained personnel. Each deliverable has a target schedule. The solution selected by the client, the list of deliverables and schedules now make up the Engineering Plan. This is the plan that will be carried out during deployment.
1.9 Deployment
During deployment, an Engineering Log is kept. It contains details on the final configuration as well as on any modifications made to the original Engineering Plan. As soon as a deliverable is completed, the client confirms his or her acceptance of the deliverable by signing the appropriate section of the Engineering Log.
1.10 Knowledge transfer
When the work has been completed to the client's satisfaction, the Engineering Plan and Engineering Log are given to the client.
